Different individuals are inspired by different events to forming the humanitarian groups. However, they share some similarities and common values. Their objective is to restore justice and equality in the society. Some of this groups include;
Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund
The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund was formed by ‘’The Phoenix New Times’’ duo. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are well known for fighting for their rights. They fought for the first amendment of rights. This has been their motivation for making a difference.
The Frontera Fund began using the apprehension compensation from the case of Sherriff Joe. This was after they published his malicious actions. This was very upsetting, given that he is a major icon in the society.
Sheriff Joe arrested them and blinded them to an unknown location at midnight. Larkin and Lacey got their freedom back within 24 hours, thanks to the protests of the civilians.
They later sued the Sherriff. The arrest being unlawful, led to the $3.75 million compensation.
The groups support other humanitarian groups around Arizona.
ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project
The group focuses on fighting for immigrants and human rights. This is through the litigation progress. It carries out the largest ligation processes through district and supreme courts.
Lacey and Larkin aim at bringing about equality in the nation even in the cases where the individuals are immigrants.
They have to participate in legal battles of challenges poor policies that deny the immigrants their constitutional rights.
The Advocates for Human Rights
The Advocates of human rights are considered the agents of change. They have been fighting for good human, civil and immigrants’ rights policies for 30 years.
They operate at local, regional and international standards. Their objective is to create a standard global level for human rights.
The group is supported by volunteers and staff to implement their plans. Through the humanitarian group, the life of majority children, immigrants and women have improved.
The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA)
The CHIRLA Group based in California has been nothing but a success. The lives of many immigrants and their families have changed for the best.
CHIRLA Groups advocates for the immigrants’ rights. They sort to eliminate the private and public humiliation that they face.
CHIRLA Group strategy is getting power by changing the public opinion and later using this power to eliminate poor policies.
The Group was formed after the Immigration Reform and Control Act in 1986. It forbid the employment of undocumented individuals. This act could encourage labor abuse and suffering.
The bottom line is humanitarian groups are essential to the society. They play a major role in ensuring justice is served to everyone.
The above groups are examples of groups that have made a difference at local, regional and international levels.
